Local Teams, Mpacting Dreams
The Soup Kitchen Team serves the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human needs: material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities; psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation; and social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships.
In order to serve as a positive factor healing force in the spirits and lives of needy individuals, the Soup Kitchen Team strives to provide encouragement, direction, and material assistance to promote growth and wholesome independence with respect and dignity.
Every person who comes to us for assistance is welcomed, without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, religious preference, handicap or income.
Volunteer Opportunities
We need people who can fill the following roles...
Volunteers daily to serve lunch
It's as easy as ABC to become a volunteer. Our volunteers come from all backgrounds, occupations, and are of all ages. It doesn't matter if you are a student, housewife, professional or retired... the only requirements are that you are fit and healthy and want to enjoy that special feeling that comes with reaching out and helping someone else.
Donate
To enable The Chapel to provide a Christ-honoring meal to those in need as we share the gospel, we depend upon the financial support of your gifts. We do not accept any funding from city, county, state and federal programs. All our funds come from gifts through individuals, Sunday school classes, Women's Missionary Unions, and a few churches who have included us in their budgets.
Besides monetary support, we need numerous specific items. Contact The Chapel for further information.
Clothing Room
Volunteers are needed for sorting, sizing, and putting clothes on hangers and arranging and preparing clothes for distribution. Each Saturday, we issue clothing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. We need volunteers to make a list of needed items.
