Research shows that the biggest single predictor of a child’s future success is the presence in their life of at least one non-parent adult. Kids who have positive adult relationships are more motivated to learn and do better in school. They have a better sense of themselves and their future. They accept and take responsibility for themselves and others. They are more resilient and less likely to engage in risky behavior. Every day, through proven successful programs and meaningful relationships with staff and volunteers, 1,700 Club kids are generating amazing results for our community. Every day at the Club stories unfold that show our staff, our families, and our Club kids the most important role of the Boys & Girls Club: to provide our kids with the opportunity to belong,to succeed, to serve their communities, and to share their voice with the world. Club kids have new experiences every day that give hope to those that need us most. This is why 57% of alumni surveyed nationally say the Club actually “saved my life”.

Five core curriculum areas

1. Character and Leadership Development.

These programs enable young people to become proficient in basic educational discipline,
apply learning to everyday situations, and embrace technology to enhance career potential.

2. Education and Career Development

Empowers youth to support and influence their Club and community, assists youth in sustaining meaningful relationships with others, encourages participation in the democratic process; teaches self-respect and a positive cultural identity, as well as respect for other people and their cultural identity.

3. The Arts

Develops young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals, and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.

4. Health and life Skills

Encourages youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.

5.Sports, Fitness and Recreation

Encourages fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment, and social skills.
