Foundation for the Homeless envisions Central Texas as a community where every person can have a home–a safe space where they can sleep, play, learn, work and grow in the presence of loved ones.

For nearly 20 years, Foundation for the Homeless, Inc., (FFH) has served both chronically homeless individuals and the so-called “invisible” or “temporarily” homeless families of the Austin area.

These are families who are in crisis following a major illness, job or transportation loss, loss of a loved one or a bad divorce. They have lived with other families or friends, in hotels, or in their ...cars until this is no longer possible, and often have trouble admitting to themselves or others that they are homeless.

FFH works to organize resources from the faith communities to alleviate the suffering of homeless people in Austin, Texas.

FFH assists people in their work toward a self-sufficient lifestyle. FFH carries out its work by building relationships between thousand of volunteers from local faith communities and homeless families with children.

Support FFH through Community Giving Programs

Surf the web? Shop online? Eat out? You can support FFH just by using GoodSearch! A Yahoo powered search engine, pays us every time you search. GoodShop & GoodDine provide coupons and discounts and a percentage of your purchase comes back to FFH!

Randall’s shopper? Support FFH with every purchase at Randalls! Simply give the cashier your Remarkable Card, along with FFH’s number of 11662 before your groceries are scanned, and we receive a quarterly donation for a percentage of the total purchases made.

Employer matching and corporate grants

Many companies (Dell, AMD, Samsung, EBay/PayPal; Houghton-Mifflin; Silicon Labs; National Instruments; Charles Schwab & Best Buy – to name a few) have payroll deduction programs for charitablegiving AND many of them match up to 100% of your deducted contributions. In addition, many will convert an employee’s volunteer hours into a cash donation to the charity the employee volunteers with. If your company has any of these programs, we would love to know about it and help you apply for any of these funds. Contact Pam with or for any information.

Other Donations

Our Feed My People program is always in need of travel size toiletries, chapstick, clean white socks, new or gently used clothing, sneakers, caps, backpacks and in the wintertime: blankets, warm caps, gloves, jackets and scarves.

Furniture donations are used by families exiting our shelter program into their own safe, stable housing. Paul with the Movin’ and Groovin’ ministry coordinates furniture pick ups. You can e-mail him or give us a call. For any other types of donations please call our office at 512-453-6570 for direct assistance.
