We make spay/neuter services and preventive veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners.

We believe that every pet needs and deserves high-quality preventive veterinary care to keep them healthy and happy for their entire lives. But we know that sometimes spay/neuter procedures and basic care like vaccinations and flea and heartworm prevention are financially out of reach and inaccessible in some communities. We’re here to change that.

We believe that making spay/neuter services and preventive veterinary care more affordable and accessible improves the lives of animals and the people who love them. We also believe it is the single most important strategy to end the unnecessary euthanasia of homeless pets in the United States.

In every city in America—large and small, urban and rural—animal lovers are trying to manage their communities’ population of homeless pets. Accidental litters from dogs and cats that haven’t been spayed or neutered are flooding into shelters across the country. In most communities, these homeless puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats are put up for adoption. The ones that don’t find new homes are euthanized to make room for more homeless pets. Every year, only about half of our nation’s homeless and lost pets are adopted into new homes or returned to their owners. The other half is killed, making shelter euthanasia a leading cause of preventable death for dogs and cats in the U.S.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Emancipet’s clinics, training and support services, and advocacy efforts are our contribution to putting a stop to unnecessary euthanasia and improving the lives of pets whose owners have been searching for safe, affordable care for their pets.

We are a nonprofit clinic with a mission to ensure every pet owner has access to spay/neuter services and preventive care for their pets. Emancipet clinics are staffed by licensed, trained veterinarians and veterinary technicians, but we are not full-service veterinary providers. All of the services we offer are preventive and will keep your pets healthy, but we do not have the equipment or supplies to diagnose or treat sick or injured pets. We are happy to refer you to a full-service provider in your area if needed. When you visit an Emancipet clinic, one of our caring veterinary technicians will walk you through our services to assist you in deciding what your pet needs.
